CEA of Kansas – Working Committees

The Site Selection Committee -

The CEA Site Selection Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the identification of primary sites for the planting of Christian Churches/Churches of Christ within Kansas.

  • It shall become familiar with the various methods of church planting and be able to identify a candidate’s strengths and weaknesses in each method. This will insure a good “marriage” of the church planter and new-church site.
  • It shall become familiar with the Bible Colleges and Seminaries which have courses of studies for church planters.
  • It shall identify those young men who are a part of existing Kansas Christian Churches & Churches of Christ who show promise of becoming church planters. These shall be recruited for education and training and planting of new churches within Kansas.

The Extant Church Committee

The CEA Extant Church Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the screening of requests for assistance from already-existing churches within Kansas.

  • It shall insure that all requests are in line with CEA’s mission and purpose and with standard procedures for assistance before advancing such requests to the Board of Directors.
  • It shall insure that all assistance, financial or otherwise, is used as the Board of Directors shall declare.

The Development Committee

The CEA Development Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the bringing of CEA to the forefront of missions efforts among Christian Churches & Churches of Christ of Kansas.

  • It shall maintain displays and printed materials for public viewing at missions fairs, conventions, etc. Whenever possible, these shall be accompanied by a member of the Board of Directors of Kansas CEA.
  • It shall publish and distribute information on the work of CEA to all Christian Churches & Churches of Christ within Kansas. (Including Internet & E-mail based communications).
  • It shall acquire all documents of historical importance, collect and archive such documents, and become the “historian” and historical repository for the Kansas CEA.
